Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and meticulous IT Buyer to source and procure IT equipment, software, and services for our organization. Responsibilities include researching vendors, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of IT resources. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, knowledge of IT products and market trends, and effective negotiation abilities.
Responsibilities:Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as IT managers and project managers, to understand IT procurement needs and requirements.Conduct market research to identify potential vendors, suppliers, and solutions that meet the organization's IT procurement requirements.Evaluate and compare vendor proposals, quotes, and contracts to determine the best options based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery timelines.Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with the organization's procurement policies and budget constraints. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of IT equipment, software licenses, and services. Maintain accurate records of IT purchases, contracts, and vendor performance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with the legal and finance departments to review and approve vendor contracts, ensuring contractual obligations, service level agreements, and legal terms are accurately documented.Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, conducting regular reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to service level agreements, quality standards, and customer satisfaction. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and market developments related to IT procurement, providing recommendations for process improvements and cost savings opportunities.Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, fostering partnerships that promote collaboration, innovation, and value-add services.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) are a plus. Proven experience as an IT Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably within the IT industry or a technology-driven organization.Strong knowledge of IT products, services, and solutions, including hardware, software, licenses, and cloud-based offerings.Familiarity with procurement processes, practices, and tools, including request for proposal (RFP) creation, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation.Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with vendors, influence decision-making, and achieve favorable terms and pricing.Analytical mindset and attention to detail to evaluate vendor proposals, contracts, and pricing structures, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational requirements.Proficiency in using procurement software, contract management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple procurement projects and priorities simultaneously.Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and take ownership of the procurement process while adhering to organizational policies and guidelines.Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical practices relating to procurement and vendor management.
