Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a maintenance team to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturing environment. They will provide leadership and direction for their team in a way that motivates them to meet goals related to repairing plant equipment, minimizing downtime, and meeting safety goals. They are driven to continually improve performance and embrace changes that will help their team and company meet these goals, while working in conjunction with the production and management teams.
Job Responsibilities
Maintains safe working conditions and ensures a safety mindset, especially as it relates to working on equipment and using tools and machineryDrives safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazardsHires, schedules, and supervises full time staff and additional temporary staff as requiredProvides coaching and corrective feedback timely as well as administers disciplinary processes up to and including termination, as necessaryPerforms timely quarterly and annual reviews for all team membersFacilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolutionOversees all process documentation and training program procedures for consistency of operational tasks, and the safety and cleanliness of the workplaceConstruct fixtures as requiredCreates a schedule and performs preventative maintenance and regular inspections on equipmentRepairs facility equipment, fixtures, building, and groundsDirects maintenance team members in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of equipmentOrders tools, equipment, supplies and services necessary for repairs and maintenanceRemoves and/or installs fixtures and equipment for safe, efficient operationTroubleshoots electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to determine causes of failures and recommends solutions for repairMaintain cleanliness, functionality, and efficiency of maintenance equipment, tools, and fixturesOther duties may be assigned as neededJob Requirements
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsAbility to coach, develop and build a strong team of employeesStrong listening and clear communication skills both written and verbalAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyDemonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented environmentForklift and Crane Certification or ability to obtain is requiredWelding skills preferredStrong working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systemsAbility to review and understand machine blueprintsAbility to use hand tools and basic machine shop equipment1+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferredMust have experience in the maintenance field, at least 2+ years is preferredMust have previous supervisory or leadership experienceProficient in Microsoft Office including Word and ExcelAbility to perform basic mathematical skills such as calculating percentages and volumes and using fractionsPhysical Demands
Lifting may be required with assistance provided if neededCompensation
