Job Duties:
The Youth Involvement Outreach Coordinator will increase awareness of NC Council for Women and Youth Involvement youth programs and their capability to serve various communities throughout the state.?
Major Task to be Performed:
The intern will create weekly newsletters, strategically increase youth programming initiatives. The intern will also assist with the Lady Cardinal Mentorship Program and activities. The intern will be involved in increasing the presence of youth councils across the state.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated:
Intern will promote the NC Council for Women & Youth Involvement youth programs and events through newsletters. The intern will coordinate outreach to State Youth Councils, assist with Lady Cardinal Mentorship Program and other projects as deemed necessary.
Academic Majors Desired:
Communications, Technology, Education, English, Marketing, Social Work, Early Childhood Development, Psychology, Parks & Recreation Management, or a related field.
2025 State of North Carolina Internship Period: Monday, May 19 - Friday, July 25, 2025
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Being comfortable around all ages of students and willing to help them learn. Intern should exhibit skills in Microsoft Office and strong oral and written communication skills.?Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
An applicant must be a permanent North Carolina resident attending a college, university, law school, community college or technical institute in North Carolina or a North Carolina resident attending an equivalent institution out of state.Applicants must carry a 2.5 or greater overall grade point average on a 4.0 scale.Applicant must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2025.Applicants must be continuing their education in the fall following their participation in the program.To qualify for a law internship, applicants must have completed at least one year of law school before the beginning of the internship, unless other majors are listed.Students having previously held paid internships with this program are not eligible to apply.Applicants must be willing and able to work full-time for the entire 10-week internship. Applicants must be able to provide legal proof of identity and work authorization within three working days of employment.
