Responsibilities:
Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.Supervises work assignment and personnel performance of staff technicians; hires, trains, coaches, and evaluates staff.Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.Requisitions and keeps a supply of spare parts.Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.Enforces a safe workplace by supervising all tasks performed in accordance with O.S.H.A., E.P.A., F.D.A., Food Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out safety rules, codes policies, and regulations, and Confined Entry policies.Contributes to a safe workplace by enforcing and complying with Federal, State, and Company rules and procedures.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Maintains time and production records.Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required; BA/BS degree in Engineering or related field preferred5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing plant environment.Must have a very strong industrial electrical knowledge in motor control, VFD, and PLCAdditional mechanical, welding, refrigeration, and plumbing knowledge preferred.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows; MS Word Processing software; MS Excel Spreadsheet software; MS Outlook; Crystal Report Writer; Internet software; MP2 Access 2000.
