We are seeking a skilled and motivated Part-Time HR Manager to join our team on a temporary basis.
This is a start-up company and they need your help building HR systems from the ground up. You must have experience working with global-based companies in China.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in HR and technology to manage essential HR functions, such as developing and maintaining employee manuals, creating competitive compensation models, overseeing onboarding processes, and handling general HR responsibilities. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting our international team, which includes 20 full-time employees in China and around 10 offshore software engineers worldwide. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, adaptable to Eastern Asian cultures, experienced in managing remote workforces, and capable of building HR infrastructure for a globally distributed team.
Key Responsibilities:• Employee Handbooks and Manuals: Develop, update, and maintain employee handbooks and policies to ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and company standards.• Compensation Models: Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits models that align with the company's goals and budget.• Onboarding & Offboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration. Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and documentation.• HR Technology Systems: Utilize and manage HR technology platforms for tracking employee data, performance, and benefits administration.• Compliance and Employment Law: Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations, with a strong understanding of international standards. Stay updated on labor legislation and advise the company on any necessary adjustments.• Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and disputes. Provide guidance on HR policies and resolve issues effectively.• Performance Management: Support the implementation and execution of performance reviews and provide guidance to managers and staff on performance improvement plans.• Cultural Adaptability: Demonstrate an understanding of Eastern Asian cultures to effectively support our team based in China and collaborate with our global workforce.• Global HR Infrastructure: Develop and implement HR systems and processes tailored to support the needs of an international team, ensuring a cohesive experience across different regions.• General HR Support: Handle general HR support tasks, including managing employee records, time tracking, leave administration, and more.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.• 5+ years of HR experience, with a focus on technology, remote workforce management, and building HR systems for international teams.• Strong understanding of HR systems, compensation models, and onboarding processes.• Familiarity with employment laws and compliance requirements, including global standards.• Demonstrated ability to adapt to Eastern Asian cultures.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering a positive employee experience.
