Job Summary
The IFF Pharma Solutions business produces and sells high-performance cellulose derivatives, alginates and related polymers used for formulations across a broad variety of applications in the Pharmaceuticals, Food, and Industrial Specialties and Personal Care markets. The portfolio is a highly profitable part of the company and has shown significant value growth over the last several years.
We have an opportunity for an Innovation Project Manager in IFF Pharma Solutions. This role is pivotal for the execution of pipeline projects within Pharma Solution's R&D and applications organization to further strengthen its operational excellence.
This position will be based in the US preferred in Midland, Michigan or in Wilmington, Delaware office, with some flexibility for remote work.
Manage a portfolio of projects focusing on product development within product lines or across business lines, including project initiation, driving project timelines, recognizing interdependencies, risk management, leading contingency planning, removing barriers and escalation;Act as the single point of contact and communicate effectively with key stakeholders globally to ensure an End-to-End project plan in place to successfully launch our new product(s) in the target market;Concurrently manage numerous programs, projects and cross-functional initiatives that may be local or remote, and continuously communicate with stakeholders to ensure content is aligned with business strategy;Implement governance standards across the portfolio;Apply disciplined project management & portfolio tools to achieve objectives and financial analyses for decision making, execute projects through the formal tools, including Six Sigma, Lean & Agile methodology;Create and maintain comprehensive portfolio documentation;Utilize business acumen to provide the right portfolio oversight and create compelling visual communications for executive stakeholders;Ensure valid and updated project metrics, meet technical and budget aims of the project;Mitigate risk at project and portfolio levels, including but not limited to regulatory, safety & FTO.Work with project teams to implement process improvements and further business development as requiredJob requirements:
Bachelor's degree or above, major in science, engineering, innovation management, or business relevant; higher degree (master or PhD) preferredAt least five years working experience with a successful track record of technical projects from early stage to late stage and the leadership required to accomplish this project progression;Experience or knowledge pf pharmaceutical industrial and excipient formulation research preferred;Ability to quickly understand significant assumptions or uncertainties within programs and accurately communicate this to multiple audiences and drive mitigation actions as needed;Strong ability in partnering with peers and teams to drive critical success factors;Solution-oriented attitude, contributing to success in reaching complex business targets and deadlines;Strong networking skills combined with a strong flair for communication;Positive and constructive personal approach and strong influence leadership skills;Demonstrated organizational, structural, and know-how regarding interpersonal skills, including confrontation skills, alignment skills, supportive skills, and leading change management;Knowledge of project management or portfolio management is preferred;
The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.
