REPORTS TO: Principal
J0B GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop, and eat, and to provide staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place to teach and eat
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Be familiar with and follow written guidelines, policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilitiesKeep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all timesRegulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water and electricityShovel, plow, and maintain walks, driveways and parking areas, as appropriateCheck daily to ensure that all exits are open and all panic hardware is working properly during the hours of building occupancyRaise the United States flag at or before 8:00 a.m. on each school day and lower it at assigned timeSweep, Mop, Wet-wash, and vacuum floors, and furniture and clean and polish fixtures and glass on schedule in assigned areasClean corridors after school each day and during the day when conditions require itScrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily and during the day when conditions require itRemove waste and trash from buildingWash all windows on both sides at least twice each yearPerform such yard keeping as necessary to maintain safe and attractive environmentClean all chalkboards at least once a weekKeep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservationReport immediately to the Principal any damage to school propertyRemain on the school premises during school work hours, and during non-school hours when attendance is required by the PrincipalAssume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each day including lights, heat, windows and doorsMove furniture or equipment within the building as required for various activities as directed by the Principal or designeeComply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish and wasteMake minor repairs such as chairs, desks, and locksPerform daily cleaning of kitchen including waste and trash removalShelve all deliveries in appropriate storage-dry, refrigerated or frozenPerform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor
