Job Summary:
The Associate General Counsel, Product & Privacy - Global Identity and Cyber Protection ("GICP") position is responsible for protecting the organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. This role is responsible for providing hands-on counsel to all levels of staff. The Assistant General Counsel identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal and regulatory compliance. The Assistant General Counsel will be the lead attorney for the business line and will provide "hands-on" legal counsel, support to senior management and partner with the business CEO for strategic legal matters. This position requires a broad knowledge and understanding of product, commercial, intellectual property, cybersecurity, SaaS tech offerings, global distribution and data privacy, matters. This position reports to the EANA General Counsel with a dotted line into the business CEO.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the General Counsel and business CEO and under their direction serves as lead product and strategy legal counsel for the global identity theft and cyber protection business.Provides advice on regulation, compliance, SaaS/E-commerce, data privacy laws and other regulatory requirements affecting GICP products.Drafts policies, procedures, agreements, and guidelines governing Europ Assistance North America as well as global distribution.Collaborates with internal partners and multi-disciplinary teams to guide development of company policies and best practices.Manages legal projects by defining scope, setting milestones and key delivery KPS's, delegating tasks, tracking progress, and reporting project results to ensure successful and efficient implementation.Institutes tight yield management of volume with the ability to keep pace and scale.Acts as a resource in subject areas that include privacy, cyber security, SaaS tech, Global regulation and contractual structure, HIPAA, and other areas.Assists in marketing, product development, vendor, and support.Comfortable negotiating data privacy agreements, including a working knowledge of GDPR and CCPA.Provides practical, commercial advice to executives and internal stakeholders on a variety of legal issues, balancing business objectives with legal risks, including identifying, managing, and communicating risks and opportunities in revenue transactions and analyzing and interpreting complex business and legal contractual provisions.Helps shape business and legal terms, deal structures and to help improve transaction processes and practices to support innovation, achieve better outcomes and enhance transaction velocity without material increase in risk.Adept at explaining complex legal concepts in a clear, concise manner to stakeholders who may have minimal legal knowledge using oral, written, and visual presentations.Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:
Requirements:
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.Extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements globally, preferably with a company of significant size and scale and with large global enterprise SaaS customers.Confident presenter able to effectively communicate thoughts to key stakeholders to influence adoption of recommendations.Negotiate skillfully with both internal and external groups to resolve differences.Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and implement solutions.Manage multiple complex projects and responsibilities concurrently and effectively.Respond calmly, quickly, and decisively to unpredictable or unexpected events and changes.Organize people, tasks, and activities to yield efficient?workflow.Preferred:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.Juris Doctorate Degree.Admittance to the bar and in good standing with a license to practice law in Washington, DC (or the ability to obtain a license in Washington, D.C.).
