About the Role

BMNT is hiring a Project Lead II for the Hacking for Defense® (H4D) Program. H4D is a nationwide university program that leverages student teams to address national security problems facing the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. At BMNT, Project Leads play an integral role in our consulting practice. Their goal is to successfully run a majority of a program to achieve the results a customer wants related to specific projects and/or lines of effort. They strategize with, and provide overall support to, Program Managers (PM) on day-to-day customer operations and contract management. A Project Lead II is an experienced project manager with a deep understanding of BMNT products and services, and the underlying methodologies, to successfully drive major parts of the project lifecycle, including planning facilitated workshops, product development, and customer management. A Project Lead II is able to lead multiple projects simultaneously that consist of many interconnected activities, face serious obstacles, or require they manage a large team to efficiently reach key milestones with limited or no oversight.

Location:

This is a hybrid position within commuting distance of our Arlington, VA office with the expectation of being in the office two to three days per week.

What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities):

Supports the writing of proposals and other contract documents related to business development and the contract life cycle, and owns execution of key contract tasks and deliverables consistent with the customer's desired outcomes. Significantly contributes to business development strategy, including identifying contract vehicles, negotiating details of contracts, and shaping opportunities to get, keep, or grow businessWorks with the customer to prioritize and adapt activities to respond to changing conditions and objectives.Leads portions of an H4X workshop proficiently while adhering to established methodologies.Acting as the primary point of contact for scheduling industry engagements on behalf of the customer.Leading meetings and calls with the customer as needed.Manages the workload and delegates tasks across the program team to ensure completion in a timely, thorough manner.Review team's work to ensure it's complete and polished before sending it to the PM.Provides mentorship and guidance to analysts, including providing constructive feedback on job performance and ensuring improvement over time.Assists in the facilitation of workshops and events.Completing requirements such as report generation or labor/cost projections.Maintains a deep and rich understanding of BMNT products and services, and the methodologies upon which they are basedArticulates how the products and services address customer's needs.Makes recommendations to improve them.Maintains a high level of professional knowledge in an area(s) of expertise through research, networking, and attendance of conferences and events. Expected to quickly acquire new expertise in diverse subject areas in support of unique problem sets.Assists Program Managers in customer engagements to support business development efforts.Models the desired behaviors of a successful contributor at BMNTsuccessful contributor at BMNT and embraces the BMNT Bushido.Experience and Qualifications You'll Need to Thrive in the Role:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.8+ years of work experience or at least 4+ years at BMNT.Proven Program Management experience and knowledge of current project management methodologies.Experienced user of project management/collaboration tools.Excellent project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and doing whatever it takes to deliver outstanding results.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate and present in both large and small group settings.Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.Demonstrated experience in delivering complex projects on time and on budget.High level of business, financial and technical acumen.Ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines.Experienced at managing up, across, and within a range of different methods.Strong leadership skills and ability to influence without authority across a variety of teams.Ability to drive enterprise change and passion for continuous learning.Expert level facilitation skills.U.S. Citizenship required.Last but not least - excitement for BMNT's mission!
