The Filing Division provides citizens resources and services to enable the accurate filing of personal and business income tax returns and payments. We accomplish this by education and outreach, creating tax forms, and offering both self-service options and contact center services and processing. We also ensure taxpayer compliance through return and payment validation, noticing, and enforcement activities.

Tax Technicians in the Filing Division are a part of teams that:Help people file their tax returns and pay their taxes accurately and timely.Promote self-compliance through education and collaboration.Communicate with customers or their representatives through phone, chat, and correspondence contact channels.Provide quality services that are easily accessible.Identify and pursue taxpayers that fail to file tax returns.Identify and pursue withholding agents that fail to withhold.Utilize cutting edge contact center technology and best-practice methodologies.Detect and prevent refund fraud and identity theft.Verify CA regulatory requirements are met before allowing a tax professional access to clients' accounts.Provide exceptional training and tools.Create a work culture that values employees and their contributions.Please Note: Anticipated start date for these positions will be April 2025.

Working Conditions

This p osition is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. Once in-person training is complete, FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
