POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Human Resources Generalist ("SHRG") position requires an experienced HR professional who strives to exceed expectations, thrives in a challenging workplace and will actively contribute to a dedicated HR team. The SHRG is responsible for managing benefits administration, employee relations, leave administration and other complex HR functions.

Responsibilities also include overseeing coordination of the company-wide performance management cycle (e.g., goal setting, self-assessments, supervisory appraisals) and optimization of employee engagement. This role will support IFG Companies' leadership to meet the HR needs of the business units, while working closely with HR leadership to deliver excellent customer service for employees.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING

The primary responsibilities of the SHRG include:

Benefits Administration:• Overseeing benefits administration, including open enrollment and qualifying life events.• Informing employees about benefit matters regarding programs offered, eligibility, coverage and other benefit program provisions.• Conducting new hire benefit orientations and annual benefit training sessions.• Administering COBRA and the EOI (Evidence of Insurability) process.• Researching complex benefit issues and developing possible solutions.• Managing relationships with benefit vendors, brokers and insurance carriers, while reviewing and reconciling periodic invoices.• Maintaining connection feeds with benefit providers and resolving connection issues.• Administering and improving wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being.

Workers' Compensation and Leave Management:• Managing workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and resolution.• Overseeing leave administration, including FMLA and disability leave.• Ensuring compliance with carriers, tracking leave-related status and coordinating payroll updates related to employees leaves.• Facilitating employee and manager leave-related communications.

Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Engagement:• Addressing employee relations issues, including by investigating as warranted and exploring possible resolutions.• Working with managers to undertake disciplinary actions (e.g., warnings and performance improvement plans), as appropriate, and managing involuntary terminations.• Providing counsel to employees and managers, as appropriate, to address performance issues.• Managing employee recognition programs to increase employee engagement.• Recommending and supporting initiatives intended to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.• Coordinating HR-related employee communications.

Additional Responsibilities:• Supporting IFG Companies' leadership in the execution of strategies, goals and objectives.• Assisting with the implementation and execution of sound HR-related policies and procedures.• Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to assigned areas within the HR function.• Other duties, as required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

The capabilities of the SHRG should include:• An ability to handle, explain and help resolve complex HR issues for employees and managers at all levels.• An ability to provide an extremely high level of internal customer service and responsiveness to meet the HR needs of IFG Companies' employees.• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and oral communications, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.• Strong organizational skills that demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, while ensuring accuracy and careful attention to detail in assigned areas.• Familiarity with various HR systems (preferably ADP), together with good computer skills and the ability to learn new applications quickly, when and as needed for this position.• General knowledge of federal and state employment laws and practices.• The ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.• A highly motivated and dependable nature, with an ability to deliver high quality work product while meeting deadlines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field from an accredited college/university required.• A minimum of 5+ years of progressive human resources experience, with a strong focus on benefits administration and employee relations required.• Previous experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required.• Experience with the insurance industry preferred.• SHRM or HRCI designation preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS• Physical demands are considered to be that of a climate-controlled office environment with minimal physical exertion.• Position requires the ability and the willingness to commute five (5) days per week to IFG Companies' offices.• Position requires prolonged sitting, extensive utilization of computers and interactions with others in person and via phone.• Position requires the ability and the willingness to travel as required to meet business demands.
