POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant Director ("HRAD") is a key leadership role that requires an experienced HR professional to support the HR needs of the business units of IFG Companies, while also handling other important assigned functions within HR. The HRAD should be very skilled at managing multiple tasks, have excellent interpersonal skills and be highly responsive and effective in supporting the business.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HRAD will play a vital role with day-to-day HR operations, providing strategic leadership, managing HR projects and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and HR-related federal, state and local regulations. The HRAD must be highly motivated and hard-working, while thriving in a dynamic and demanding environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the HRAD include:
Business Partner:
Acting as a liaison between HR and the business units by developing and maintaining good working relationships with managers and business unit leaders to support them with compensation, benefits, performance, succession planning, recruiting, training, compliance and other HR-related matters.
Providing guidance to management and employees for HR-related matters and helping resolve issues, as needed.
Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
HR Leadership:
Working with the HR Director to mentor the HR team, address escalations and ensure high performance.
Developing and implementing innovative HR strategies that align with IFG Companies' business objectives.
Preparing and delivering impactful presentations and training sessions.
Supporting the succession planning process, ensuring readiness for future leadership needs.
Resolving complex HR issues, with a focus on continuous improvement, when appropriate.
Assisting in the preparation of the annual HR budget.
HR Project Management:
Coordinating and supporting cross-functional teams to execute strategic HR projects.
Aligning HR practices with business goals through effective strategic planning.
Coordinating project timelines and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
Developing and analyzing key performance indicators ("KPIs") to measure HR's impact on organizational objectives.
Performing other duties, as may be assigned by the HR Director, IFG Companies' President or Chairman.
Compliance:
Spearheading compliance initiatives and partnering with the HRIS & Compliance Specialist to ensure accurate and timely submission and auditing of HR-related regulatory filings, including, but not limited to:
401(k) Audits
5500 Filings
Workers’ Compensation Audits
Personnel File Audits
Medicare Part D Notices
I-9 Audit and Reverifications
Benefit Audits
EEO-1 Reportings
ACA Reportings
Managing Labor Law postings and coordinating harassment compliance training.
Being current re employment laws and HR best practices.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
The capabilities of the HRAD must include:
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization.
The ability to envision long-term goals, anticipate future trends and incorporate strategic thinking into practical solutions.
Proficiency with HRIS, with the capability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience in developing presentations and strategic documents.
A strong capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent skills for influencing stakeholders effectively and driving results through resource management and relationship building.
The ability to be proactive, assertive and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required, preferably with a major in HR or a related field.
A minimum of 7+ years of progressive HR experience.
Working knowledge of the full spectrum of HR functions (e.g., Recruiting, T&D, Payroll, Employee Relations, Benefits and Compensation).
Previous experience with Microsoft Office required.
SHRM or HRCI designation strongly preferred.
Knowledge/usage of ADP preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands are considered to be that of a climate-controlled office environment with minimal physical exertion.
Position is onsite and requires the ability and the willingness to commute five (5) days per week to IFG Companies' offices.
Position requires prolonged sitting, extensive utilization of computers and interactions with others in person and via phone.
Position requires the ability and the willingness to travel as required to meet business demands.
