Job Title: Director of Human ResourcesLocation: San Diego, CAPosition Overview:Our client, a leading company in the Energy sector, is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead their HR function. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multi-state HR compliance, talent management, and organisational development within the Energy industry. This position is based in the San Diego area and offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000, with a performance-based bonus of up to 30%.Key Responsibilities:- HR Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the client's business objectives in the Energy sector, focusing on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.- Compliance Management:
Ensure company-wide compliance with multi-state HR legislation, including employment law, health and safety regulations, and industry-specific standards. Serve as the primary resource on compliance issues and lead initiatives to implement regulatory changes across states.- Talent Acquisition and Retention:
Oversee recruitment processes and establish programs to attract high-calibre professionals with industry expertise. Develop employee retention strategies and succession planning programs to support long-term goals.- Employee Relations:
Foster a positive, productive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and implementing best practices for engagement and communication.- Performance Management:
Design and manage performance evaluation processes, goal-setting frameworks, and coaching initiatives to drive a high-performance culture. Provide guidance to managers on performance-related matters.- Compensation and Benefits:
Oversee compensation programs and ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant salary structures. Manage benefits programs and identify enhancements to align with industry standards and employee needs.- Organisational Development:
Partner with senior leadership to identify and implement development initiatives to enhance organisational performance, leadership skills, and team effectiveness.- HR Metrics and Reporting:
Monitor and report on HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives, inform decision-making, and identify areas for improvement.Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters degree or HR certification a plus)- Minimum of 8 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in the Energy sector- Proven expertise in managing multi-state HR operations and comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and compliance standards across multiple states- Strong understanding of talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations in the Energy industry- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on HR best practices- Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analyticsCompensation and Benefits:- Base Salary:
