In this role, you will assist the manager with assigning and reviewing work, maintaining safe operations on bridges and roadways and responding to emergencies. A day in the life:Plan, prioritize and assign work duties based on availability of resources, equipment and staffing.Advise and guide employees in effective performance and resolve work-related issues.Provide new employee orientation and training.Review the crew's work and provide input to the transportation maintenance supervisor (TMS).Ensure the crew has the necessary resources to accomplish their work.Ensure proper maintenance of equipment.Assist the TMS by preparing, reviewing and/or signing documents.Participate in short and long-range planning and budgeting for the crew.Respond to accidents and emergencies.Review and evaluate structural damage from accidents.Operate light and heavy equipment appropriate for the project.Exposure to noise, hazardous conditions, traffic, adverse weather and work at extreme heights above large bodies of water is expected.Must be able to navigate uneven terrain, participate in manual labor and lift up to 70 pounds.May need to be available after hours, on weekends and holidays for emergency, on-call or weather-related purposes.To request a copy of the position description, which includes all duties and working conditions, please email

Minimum qualifications:

Three years of maintenance or construction experience in roadway, highway, bridge, sign, drawbridge or landscape.Special qualifications:

Employee will be required to use a commercial motor vehicle to conduct business. You must possess a current, valid commercial driver's license A (CDL-A) with a tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions, no 5th wheel restrictions and no manual transmission restrictions,

OR

have the ability to acquire a class A commercial learner permit within 60 days of hire and a CDL-A with a tanker endorsement and restrictions removed within six months of hire (ODOT will cover training costs) to be considered eligible for this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse registration and full query check for our final candidate(s) and annual query for current employees.This position requires a

maximum 30-minute response time to
