Opportunity

We're seeking a high performing Capital Management Associate for strategic transactions, capital structure, investments, capital raising, and financial risk management. This person will analyze data and develop models to aid in making informed decisions that enhance the company's and specific development project's financial health and strategic goals.

ResponsibilitiesFinancial Analysis and Modeling : Ability to create and adjust financial models (generally spreadsheet based) for technologies and projects. Develop scenarios and sensitivities to inform decision-making for both project leads and executive management. Ownership of financial models for specific technologies or projects. Contribute to the model of corporate level forward pro forma financials. Works with strategy and execution teams to refine model inputs.Market and Economic Research : Fundamental research on commodity markets, equipment markets, and government incentives to validate and verify financial model inputs and establish the basis for scenarios and sensitivity analysis. Works with strategy and innovation teams to refine model inputs.Support Strategic Transactions,

including Capital Raising : Prepare internal analysis to explain the pro forma financials for technologies and projects. Support preparation of investors presentations by project, technology or for TopCo. Lead working-level role in diligence processes for potential investors. Support the development of proposals and the origination of various transaction types together with business development.Capital Structure Analysis:

Develop supporting quantitative and qualitative analysis for different investment structures for both equity and debt for 8 River's TopCo and potential ProjectCo's or TechnologyCo's which may be contemplated from time to time.Performance Reporting : Support the Finance team in reporting performance of projects.Budget Support : Support budget process, helping assure forward-looking pro formas match near-term execution plans from business development and execution teams.Origination and Client-facing Activities : Outreach to potential clients and/or investors in coordination with the Business Development team. Manage relationships on an on-going basis to support participation in potential future transactions.Basic Qualifications

Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Additional Required Skills and Abilities

6+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, capital management, corporate finance, or a related field.Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, manipulate and present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.Ability to influence and align internal and external stakeholders.Experience taking initiatives or projects from inception to launch.Ability to learn quickly and gaining expertise in unfamiliar topics.Excellent written, verbal communication and customer facing skills.Ability to work full-time onsite at our Durham, NC office 4-5 days/week.Preferred Skills and Abilities

Master's degree in Engineering, Finance or MBA.Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM).Origination experience with investor and customer management as well as transaction structuring and strategy.Experience with financial software and databases (e.g. Bloomberg).Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements, particularly in finance, banking, or investment management sectors.Knowledge of risk management principles.Experience in the energy sector.
