Position Overview:
As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a pivotal role in our operations, supporting the procurement process for both single-family and multi-family home construction projects. Your attention to detail, negotiation skills, and ability to build strong supplier relationships will contribute to our success and growth.
Responsibilities:Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability criteria. Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.Material Procurement:
Coordinate the procurement of materials and supplies required for construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling requirements.Cost Analysis:
Analyze costs, pricing trends, and market conditions to optimize purchasing decisions and achieve cost savings without compromising quality.Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control systems to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing cash flow and project timelines.Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.Communication:
Collaborate effectively with internal teams including project managers, design teams, and accounting to coordinate purchasing activities and support project milestones.Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing, preferably within the construction or related industry.Skills:
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.Personal Attributes:
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Benefits:
