We have a fantastic opportunity with a local manufacturer in the Pottstown, PA area who is looking to add a Purchasing Agent to their team!Our client offers a very collaborative, team oriented work culture with the ability for job advancement. Benefits include health, dental, retirement and PTO. Salary is based upon experience but could range between $60,000 and $70,000 per year.Job duties:Source and Purchase Materials:
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers to secure raw materials, equipment, and services at the best possible price and quality.Customer and Vendor Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure that purchased materials meet product specifications and customer requirements.Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor vendor performance, and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.International Procurement:
Manage overseas purchasing activities, including coordinating with international suppliers, managing shipping logistics, and ensuring that all documentation for cross-border shipments is accurate and compliant.Customs and Clearance:
Ensure timely customs clearance for international shipments, collaborating with freight forwarders and customs brokers to avoid delays and ensure adherence to international trade laws and regulations.Cost Control:
Monitor market trends and material costs and negotiate pricing and payment terms to minimize procurement expenses without sacrificing quality.Inventory Management:
Work closely with inventory control and production teams.Job requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing, ideally in a manufacturing or similar industryAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline driving environmentStrong analytical skills
