The Logistics and Shipping Scheduler is responsible for the overall planning and execution and delivery performance of their assigned site. They will be responsible for executing strategies cascaded from the corporate logistics team and the Supply Chain Organization.

The Scheduler interacts daily with external providers to meet the logistics needs of the business and the site. The Scheduler develops and adjusts the bulk and packaged shipment plan which may include domestic and international destinations and truck, rail, air or ocean transport.

The Scheduler interacts daily with external providers to meet the logistics needs of the business and the site. The Scheduler develops and adjusts the bulk and packaged shipment plan which may include domestic and international destinations and truck, rail, air or ocean transport.

Responsibilities

Schedules shipments with our strategic logistics vendors, including common/contract carriers, ocean carriers, drayage carriers, Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers, and processes Electronic Data Interchanges with our freight forwarders to meet our customers' delivery service requirements and control our variable distribution costs.Acts as the primary point of contact with Corporate Logistics. Provides feedback to that team regarding quality of service from various carriers. Works collaboratively to source reliable, cost effective transportation services for the site.Creates deliveries and shipments, and consolidates less-than-truckload orders within SAP to process sales orders for our customers and stock transport orders for other Evonik locations. Notifies Evonik's selected 3PL provider when deliveries can be combined to consolidate shipments.Processes shipment documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery notes, packing lists, certificates of analysis, wood packing forms, Customs Invoices, Red Border forms. Ensures that all shipping documentation and product labeling meets destination country and global regulatory requirements and is in compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG regulations as applicable.Manages the Freight Claim and Returned Goods process. Investigates logistics related Customer Complaints and implements corrective actions with our logistics vendors and plant shipping personnel.Manages SAP daily control reports, such as VL10H (Delivery Due Lists), VL06O (Post Goods Issue), and VT12 (Shipment Status) to ensure a "Clean Desk Policy".Investigates and answers Deliver Customer Complaints and implements corrective actions with our logistics vendors and plant shipping personnel to prevent recurrence of these customer nonconformances.Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree and 2 years' experience in a logistics field, or related experience.Related Experience: Minimum 5 years plant experience or familiarity with processes and logistics of a manufacturing site and/or expertise in logistics and SAP systemsSpecial Training or Competence: DOT, IMDG, IATA shipping and Hazardous Materials certification preferred. Knowledge of shipping requirements and regulations. Good communication skills both written and verbal to interface with customers, vendors, sales and management. Critical thinking skills for planning and scheduling loads that work with production and meet customers' expectations. Problem solving skills. Organizational skills for planning multiple orders and shipments. Strong negotiations skills to influence carriers, vendors and others for better service.Equipment/Software Skills: Computer literate, SAP or similar MRP/ERP experience preferred
