The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a

Director of Athletic Performance . This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. Responsibilities:

The Director of Athletic Performance is responsible for the management and administration of all phases of a competitive Division I sports performance program that (a) recruits, retains and graduates high caliber student-athletes with a high level of satisfaction, (b) competes successfully within the Big TenSave Conference, and (c) maintains a program and staff that demonstrates high ethical standards.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent);CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS);Minimum of five years working experience as a strength and conditioning coach of collegiate student-athletes in the following areas:Designing speed, strength, and conditioning programs in a progressive mannerExecuting the rehabilitative phase of injury recovery;

Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through public speaking engagements, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques;Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;Demonstrated experience in:Performance management, including effectively teaching and supervising small and large groups of student-athletes;Utilizing basic office support software (word processing, email, spreadsheets);

A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.Desired qualifications:

Higher education coursework in a related field is preferred;Coaching experience with and working knowledge ofNCAA Division I strength and conditioning processes, issues, considerations and solutions for a high profile athletic program;Functional movement screening tools and implementing appropriate corrective exercise;

Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes, recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.Application Process:
