Job Description

Peterson Trucks has the immediate need for an experienced Fleet Coordinator at our San Leandro, CA location.

SUMMARY

The Idealease Fleet Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Service Department for their fleet service function and coordinates the department's scheduled service activities. The Coordinator communicates regularly with other departments and maintains close liaison with customers and key personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for monitoring lease and rental fleet availability and scheduling required services.Schedule service on each unit as necessary to remain compliant with preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.Assist the Service Supervisor with creating and delegating service schedules work to Technicians.Coordinate with Technicians on any follow up repair required for prior scheduled work.Set up vendor appointments (internally and externally), for work on specific applications of the fleet not performed by Idealease.Monitor progress on repairs for estimate compliance.Maintain communication between shop, our team, and customers, to report on the current repair status using email and phone communication.Serve as a backup for overseeing work order opening and closing process; periodically review work orders for accuracy, completeness, appropriateness of parts and labor, and professional explanation.Maintain liaison with parts management and communicate frequently with other departments.Collect coverage information to determine who will be responsible for payment of services.Work closely with management to reduce department costs and maximize operation profitsTransport commercial trucks to and from other Peterson locations, customer sites, truck shows, etc. to provide adequate customer service.Streamline processes to improve flow and efficiencies in operational productivity.Provide other clerical and administrative support as may be needed (type letters, job quotes, purchase orders and other related documents; make appointments and maintain schedules; make copies and use fax, mail system, or otherwise distribute work related materials both inside and outside of company).Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree from a fully accredited college in a related field; and a minimum of one year of directly related experience in truck or heavy equipment service; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Knowledge of repair and servicing on-highway trucks and components and a current working knowledge of Navistar and Idealease requirements for vehicle maintenance preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintain valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card.
