Our client is seeking a Lease Operator to work within their facilities located in Jal, NM on a 24-month assignment (with the possibility of extension depending on performance).
Responsibilities:Adhere to all Safety, Environmental, and Company policies and proceduresBe a safety leader in the company safety programParticipate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)Participate in incident investigations and HSE audits as assignedOperate a company-provided vehicle in a safe manner while adhering to the company driving guidelinesInspect gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and attached piping components for leaks or unusual conditions and take corrective actions if neededAccess remote locations to check wells, maintain normal operating levels, pressures and flow on separation equipment, and adjust automatic and manual controlsGauge tanks for sale or transfer of condensate, crude oil, and water while maintaining appropriate and accurate recordsEnsure wells are prioritized and operated to maintain contractual obligationsOperate rental compressors, flowing gas wells, gas lift wells, rod pump units, submersible wells, surface pumping equipment, and test wellsGather relevant data on the above-mentioned equipment to and compare daily changes to both equipment and productivityAdjust pumping unit run time, time clock, injection adjustment, stroke lengths, shoot fluid levels, run dynamometers, and perform basic trouble shootingUtilize electronic remote well supervision, SCADA, etc., to optimize production and reduce safety and environmental impactMaintain chemical injection rates, start up and shut in wellsAccurately enter daily volumes, well tests, down time and injection information into a computer database in a timely mannerMonitor daily production inputs into electric data gathering software and compare input data with output data for accuracyProactively monitor and optimize production costs within area of controlPerform minor hands on production equipment repairs - generate work notifications/material request for all other work that is needed for equipment reliabilityOperate and optimize Artificial Lift Systems such as: wellhead compression, capillary strings, plunger lift, foamed injection, gas lifts and flow case equipmentExecute required regulatory tasks generated by SAP, such as A&OI inspections, site security, and end of the month closingsTake full ownership for daily operations and maintenance of assigned wellsHave ability to be on call and respond to call-out alarmsMaintain cleanliness and order on lease routes and at facilitiesPerform detailed and effective shift handovers - communicate shift notes where applicableContribute to achieving Safety, Production, and Financial goals set by both corporate and the individual Business UnitsRequirements:
Legally authorized to work in the United StatesValid driver's licenseWillingness and ability to perform/comply with the following:To work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditionsTo work in several different geographic locations each dayTo work both in and out of a company-owned vehicleTo wear appropriate special safety equipmentTo climb heights up to 24 feet to gauge tanksTo walk, bend, stoop and liftTo use hand tools to make minor repairsTo work weekends and be on callPreferred:
Associate's degree / Trade Certification or higher in a Production Technology, Process Technology or related technical field3+ years direct experience with oil and gas production practices, equipment and terminologyWork independently with minimum supervisionSatisfactory safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practicesAbility to utilize laptop PC and applicable software programsAbility to prepare accurate and legible reportsAbility to read and understand production and financial reportsAbility to react to visual and aural signals, alarms, and instructionsTakes ownership of actions and follows through on commitmentsResponds resourcefully, flexibly and positively when faced with challenges and demandsDemonstrates a strong commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe environmentTransmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intendedBuilds positive relationships across organizations that foster a strong work environmentConstantly searches for and implements new ways of doing business betterEncourages new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions
