Position Summary
The Club General Manager is a strategic business leader who is responsible for managing the daily operations of all resort membership activities and programs at The Seagate Golf Club. They will supervise all department heads, working with an exceptional team of talented professional staff to achieve positive results on members' and hotel guests' satisfaction and exceed financial goals. The General Manager will demonstrate strong management skills in leading a successful, cooperative management team, and will be focused on maintaining the positive culture and exceptional experience for our members and guests.
Responsibilities
Leads all property operations (including golf course, clubhouse, fitness, racquets, membership sales, and events). This position works in cooperation with the Director of Food and Beverage to lead restaurant and banquet service at the outlets, for events, and with the beverage cart.Develops, maintains, and administers a sound business and organizational plan for the golf club which includes an operating/capital budget and marketing plan. Prepares all departmental golf club budgets and forecasts with business acumen and a commitment to financial success.Embodies and celebrates the culture of The Seagate.Oversees the hiring, training, and supervising of all employees of the property ensuring the highest caliber of service for our members and guests.Defines and ensures the members' and guests' experiences during the sequence of service at the golf club is seamless, utilizing member acknowledgement, recognition of preferences, and adherence to the highest quality of service standards in luxury.Takes responsibility that the property is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.Oversees the care, cleanliness, and maintenance of the property's physical assets and facilities to include golf course maintenance.Demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with employees, members, and guests.Maintains a positive working relationship with all business partners, ownership, stakeholders and other resort divisions.Adheres to Seagate standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures, immediately reporting infractions.Attends all Seagate management meetings, and leads division meetings and one-on-one meetings weekly with division heads.Ensures the safety of all members, guests, and employees, through constant monitoring and adherence to all Seagate safety protocol and policies, as well as OSHA laws, reporting all accidents or infractions to security and/or HR immediately.Adheres to all business ethic codes and ensures compliance across the golf club, immediately reporting infractions.Attends member events and tournaments and connects with members in the outlets and on the course.Ensures membership sales goals are met through creativity, commitment, and availability to participate in the sales process.Leads the membership, sales, marketing and events teams with creativity and enthusiasm to exceed members' expectations with the caliber of events, consistently seeking and listening to members' feedback.Qualifications
5 + years in Club ManagementBachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration (preferred)CMAA certification, TIPS Certification, CPR Certification and ServSafe Manager Certification (preferred)Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environmentAbility to effectively deal with members', guests', and employees' concerns in a friendly, positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy, and providing positive and proactive solutions.Strong relationship builder with personal characteristics that include accountability, inclusiveness, fairness, humility, forward and creative thinking combined with sound judgment, and the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and discretionEffective conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsQuick to adapt, pivot, learn and teach new skillsExcellent project management skills and excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft ExcelAbility to work at a computer. Ability to sit, walk and stand for long periods of time. Ability to driver. Ability to work in extreme weather. Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry 50 pounds.Availability to work a flexible schedule which will include long hours, nights, and weekends.
