SUMMARY:
The Donor Relations Officer has responsibility for the overall journey of the Donor stewardship and acknowledgement process, as well as maintaining (and increasing) the Donor retention for the organization. The Financial goal expectation of $175k from fundraising efforts; renewing and stewarding a portfolio of 200+ donors. This position will work closely with the EVP of Strategy & Development and with the fundraising, marketing, and community teams as a partner in helping achieve the organization's fundraising goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To manage, maintain and, solicit Donation renewals through 1x1 interactions, annual online campaigns, and events.To be the liaison between the fundraising and marketing divisions to ensure the proper acknowledgement and stewardship of Donors. (through social media, newsletters, events, etc.)This role will serve as the co-lead, along with the Director of Development in supporting up to (2-3) signature events for the nexgen (young professionals) council. As well as, attending meetings to represent the organization and share updates to the council.Manage Beneficiary events assigned by EVP of Strategy & Development by coordinating with community partner/vendor and internal teams for successful execution of events.Assist with managing email communications outreach - newsletters, e-blasts, special announcements, newsletters, etc. through Raiser's Edge.Respond to donor inquiries and provide exceptional front-line service and support to donors and prospects.Support individual donor stewardship initiatives including outreach to lapsed donors, data gathering and analysis for current donors and other engagement efforts.Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to create and edit donor relations messages for accuracy and brand appropriateness.Maintain monthly renewal, anniversary and birthday emailsUtilize Raiser's Edge Database to maintain and update donor records, to include Actions, such as proposals, solicitations, and engagement touchpoints.Provide support for special campaigns, projects and events as needed.Stay current on development, fundraising best practices and database updates.Assist with other duties as assigned to support the successful achievement of the Organization's fundraising Goal of $7MM.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of one (1) year prior experience in social services, human services and/or non-profit required.Minimum of one (1) year practical experience in even management and/or development, and/or prior experience in social services, human services and/or non-profit a plus.Must have comprehensive knowledge of research methods and private foundations associated with fundraising for a non-profit institution, or online research skills in another capacity.Computer skills required: Microsoft Office software.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge preferred.Must possess outstanding critical thinking skills as well as the ability to analyze and interpret complex business and financial data and philanthropic information.Ability to work at fast pace, accurately processing large volume of data.Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.Research and development skills preferred.Must be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff (from direct-service staff to Executive staff, community partners and vendors).Works well under pressure with a variety of deadlines.
