Responsibilities:

  • Partner strategically with internal clients which consist of members of the firm’s national offices including those specializing in SOQM, professional standards, and risk management.  Effectively collaborate across multiple groups, disciplines, and geographies.
  • Review all assurance findings and identify appropriate stakeholders and participants for remediation efforts.
  • Actively participate in the evaluation and determination of root cause and other causal factors that gave rise to negative events.
  • Creates and maintains a workstream strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to address matters of audit quality.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with those key stakeholders responsible for tasks and remediation efforts.    
  • Performs monitoring activities of remediation plans.
  • Maintains a high level of organization and project management skills.
  • Exercises strong written communication skills to report matters of significance to internal and external stakeholders.  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Facilitates and embraces change management identification and execution of new projects and programs.
  • Operates in a self-directed manner, identifying and addressing risks and negative themes and supports process improvement as well as the successful delivery of remediation efforts projects.
  • Maintains professional knowledge and expertise in emerging topics in Professional Standards, especially SOQM.
  • Participate in external task forces and committees representing the firm as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience managing significant or complex projects
  • Understanding of assurance services
  • 12+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting firm
  • Proficient in PCAOB Auditing Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • CPA or CA Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
  • PCAOB, SEC or other regulatory experience 
  • Experience working on public company or equivalent financial statement audits
  • Experience designing and implementing internal control systems (e.g. SOX, ICFR)

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $148,400 - $324,500

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
