Job Details
Responsibilities:As a Trust & Estates Attorney, you will be entrusted with a wide range of duties that are crucial to our clients' financial well-being and peace of mind. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Advising clients on estate planning, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.2. Handling all aspects of trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings, trust terminations, and estate tax returns.3. Providing legal counsel on individual tax planning and compliance, with a focus on minimizing tax liabilities and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.4. Assisting clients with gift and estate tax planning, including the use of sophisticated techniques to minimize gift and estate taxes.5. Representing clients in disputes involving trusts and estates, including litigation in state and federal courts.6. Keeping up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations related to trusts, estates, and taxes, and advising clients on how these changes may affect their estate plans.
Qualifications:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.2. An active license to practice law in the state of Illinois.3. A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Trust & Estates Attorney, with a strong track record in estate planning, individual taxes, and trust, gift, and estate taxes.4. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.6. A high level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.7. The ability to work independently and manage a large caseload, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines.8. A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
