OVERVIEW:

The Sourcing & Product Development Manager oversees and leads the product development process directly with the vendor for their brand(s) and communicates status updates to the cross functional team. Ensures product is proto ready and that the quality level of goods are in the limits of the defined quality standards of the brand. Responsible for developing, executing and communicating a brand focused global sourcing strategy in line with the current and future business needs & margin goals of the brand w/alignment from the Product Management team. The manager monitors production and QC of the brand's product in the Americas, including Central America, South America, Mexico, Caribbean and the US Domestic market.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for driving the brand's global sourcing strategy and execution. Participates in milestone meetings, line reviews and recommends practical solutions to develop the product from the right suppliers and determine vendor placement. Advises on supplier and factory matrix evolution based on business needs. Understands factory competency. Utilizes the matrix to support the creation of the product placement strategy and select suppliers best suited to make the product as well as seek opportunities for new product categories for the brand.Understands brand mill competencies, looks for fabric platforming opportunities. Key liaison connecting fabric needs with sourcing strategy. Leads and monitor sample and fabric/trim/packaging approval process to ensure on time sample delivery. Identifies opportunities to enhance efficiencies in the product development process. Primary liaison with Materials Testing, Compliance, Fabric, Design and Technical Design Teams for product development.Utilizes component costing skills and ensures the brand's cost and margin targets are met or beat. Validates target costs issued from the product manager, cost breakdown sheet (CBD), and final cost negotiation for the brand's products collaborating with the product managers for final cost approval.Responsible for the execution and product integrity of the brand's Americas production. Responsible for all aspects of any CA factory production & capacity to ensure timely delivery of the brand's products. Monitors WIP report to track and manage of the brand's production in the Americas according to timeline.Primary party in managing Americas' vendor relationships based upon the brand's set sourcing strategy. Leads any speed to market/flex & replenishment strategies with cross functional partners for the brand ensuring the vendor is informed on capacity needs and timing of commits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Related Field

5-7 years of experience

Ability to work with diverse cultures

Travel up to 25% of job

Working knowledge of apparel factory production

Factory/Mill capacity planning experience
