Job DetailsJob LocationCentral - San Antonio, TXDescriptionJob Overview AVANCE - San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Grants Coordinator to join our Development team as we work toward implementing our strategic plan aimed at growing our programs from diverse funding sources. This includes grants from private foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other entities. The Grants Coordinator will oversee all aspects of incoming grant management, from pre-award proposal development to post-award administration and closeout, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and organizational policies. This role requires close collaboration with finance, program teams, and external partners to manage both the financial and operational elements of grants.Job ResponsibilitiesPre-Award Proposals. Collaborate with program and finance teams to develop, review, and submit grant proposals and budgets that align with AVANCE's mission and funder guidelines. They will review grant agreements for financial and compliance requirements, providing advice on feasibility and implementation. The coordinator will respond to funding opportunities by compiling financial-related attachments and assembling required organizational materials, ensuring that all proposals comply with AVANCE's policies and the guidelines of potential funders.Post-Award & Closeout Administration. Will oversee financial tracking and reporting for all grants, working with program and finance teams to ensure compliance with budgets, goals, and conditions. They will monitor grant expenditures and provide guidance on the appropriateness and allowability of expenses, tracking actual expenses versus budgeted funds to ensure compliance with funding requirements. Additionally, they will coordinate and prepare detailed financial reports for grantors and manage the timely submission of all required reporting materials.Grant Management & Compliance. Will serve as a key advisor on grant management issues, including compliance matters, documentation processes, and budget development. They will collaborate with program teams to ensure that funded projects are executed according to grant requirements and organizational objectives. Furthermore, they will maintain accurate records of grant-related documents, ensuring that electronic and hard-copy files are well-organized and up to date. The manager will also develop and implement improved processes, policies, and guidelines for better management and accountability of grant income.Strategic Collaboration. Will work closely with the finance, fundraising, and legal teams to provide technical support and resolve grants management issues. They will regularly meet with program staff, including directors and leadership, to track project progress, update budgets, and ensure compliance. Moreover, they will support the Partnerships team in tracking proposals, award receipts, and reporting, while driving improvements in grants management processes.EducationRequired: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.Work ExperienceRequired: Two to five years of experience in a grant writing role, preferably in a nonprofit environment. Preferred:Experience in crafting and submitting both government and private grants. Proficiency in Social Media web platforms.Experience and interest in development and fundraising work.Additional Skills RequiredProficiency in developing and managing budgets for medium and large grants (six figures and above).Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.Superior organization skills.Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to seamlessly perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners, and donors.Expert-level written and verbal communication skills.Emotional maturity.Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to be extremely effective independently.Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.Spanish fluency is helpful, but not required.Must have dependable transportation on a daily basis, valid driver's license, clean driving record, current auto liability insurance and insurable by AVANCE, San Antonio, Inc.
