Salary: See Position DescriptionLocation : Cape Girardeau, MOJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 202400373Division: Finance and AdministrationDepartment: Facilities ManagementOpening Date: 11/08/2024Closing Date: 11/22/2024 11:59 PM CentralPosition Summary BOILER TECHNICIAN IIFacilities Management Full TimeStarting Wage: $22.03 per hour/$24.04 after successful completion of probationary period Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist Boiler Tech I with urgent needs with equipment failures, malfunctions, etc., and have the ability to stand in for Tech 1 in the event he/she is unavailable for their regularly scheduled shiftMaintain and repair boilers and associated equipment in the plant (feed water pumps, valves, regulators, etc.)Assist with the maintenance of the electrical infrastructure and Emergency Power Generator Systems (gen sets, transfer switches, etc.) within the Boiler Plant and campusMaintain and repair condensate pumps and associated system components in all facilitiesMaintain and repair steam valves, traps, regulators, relief valves, heat exchangers, and all related steam equipment in all facilitiesTroubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems issues within the plantRepair, replace and/or fabricate piping assemblies (Steel, Copper, PVC, fiber glass) as needed in all systems (steam, chilled, heating, condenser, condensate, etc.) at all facilities by welding, soldering, brazing, etc.Repair, replace and/or install insulation as neededMaintain and repair chemical feed pumps and control systemsPerform water tests and adjust chemical feed rates as needed on open and closed systems (steam, chilled, heating, condenser, etc.)Assist in the Preventative Maintenance Program with other plant personnel as directedPerform "Standby" on call duties on a rotating basis with other plant personnelMaintain fountains on the campus to include upkeep and performance of the water systemsAssist in the upkeep and appearance of the plant and campusMaintain a valid driver's licenseRequired Qualifications High school diploma or GEDPossess a current driver's licenseMust live within 30 minutes travel time from the UniversityExperience on steam boiler systems in an educational, commercial or industrial settingAbility to read and work from prints, schematics, and from verbal and written instructionsStrong electrical/mechanical ability as evidenced by maintenance experienceAbility to operate various pieces of testing equipment (volt/ohm meters, pressure testing instruments, etc.) and skilled in the proper use of hand and power toolsAbility to perform shift work on a rotational basisAbility to learn the control systems, electrical systems and switchgearsAbility to work and complete assignments with minimal supervisionAbility to perform heavy work and lift up to 100 lbs. and to work at heights up to 150 ft. that exist on campus with or without accommodationsAbility to work in close or confined spaces for extended periods of time with or without accommodationWilling to participate in training/schooling to continually improve abilities relative to positionDemonstrated experience and understanding of customer serviceRequired Information & DeadlineTo Apply: The deadline to submit applications is November 22,2024Click on the APPLY button at the top of the page and complete every section of the online application.
