This includes the direction of all activities related to the planning, scheduling, procurement, and organization of material to support all production, repair, spare and prototype customer orders. Supply chain experience required and APICS certification strongly preferred (CPIM). Working knowledge of ERP systems and controls (IFS, SAP, etc.), and continuous improvement preferred. Green belt certification is required.
Essential FunctionsDevelops the strategic direction for supply chain and logistics function
Direct the management of the material requirement planning, purchasing, warehousing, shipping and receiving departments.Ensures the plans and activities of scheduling, procurement, receiving and storing of materials, enable Kearfott to meet rigorous production needs.Works collaboratively with other functions including Contracts, Programs, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other company locations to achieve business objectives.Assures the inventory availability and movement of materials, supplies and services meet production and delivery schedules.Develops short- and long-range materials management programs to minimize inventory costs and meet schedule requirements.Provide for alternate strategies in the event of unforeseen contingencies.Ensures the accurate evaluation of inventory and production capacities and plans in relation to current and long-range commitments.As director, assures all team members are accountable for performance through clear direction and the use of fair, objective criteria.Optimize the use of assets to meet/exceed sales and production schedules.Prepares and controls expense operating budgets for all departments with the Materials Management group.
Creates meaning full metrics that focuses team and provides accountabilityOperations Strategic Planning & Development
Creates the strategic operations plan including, but not limited to, integration of S&OP, 5-year Business Development forecasts, Corporate Strategy, and cross-site forecasts.Drives production costs to the lowest possible level in collaboration with the other Kearfott sites.Facilitates the development of talent and skills in the workforce.
Continuous Improvement
Strives to achieve operational excellence by providing internal and external customers with industry leading quality, delivery, responsiveness and cost.Works continuously to improve relevant processes and minimize COPQ.Provides mentorship and coaching to direct reports to help guide them and drive better processes, procedures, and overall operations.
Education & Experience10+ years in materials management, production control and supply chain within Aerospace environment with progressive management responsibilitiesMinimum bachelor's degree in engineering, advanced degree (including MBA) preferredCertifications: APICS preferred; Green Belt required, Black Belt preferredWorking knowledge of ERP systems (IFS, SAP etc.)Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and CPSR requirements is necessaryDirect experience with supporting audits (AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA, USG Cost and Pricing audits)Supply chain experience including negotiation of purchase orders, including blanket and long-term agreementsDemonstrated ability to communicate status and recovery plans with Customers is required.Experience with both Master Scheduling, S&OP, and Project scheduling requiredSolid communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate across all functions and with all levels of the organizationPrior experience as a Small Business Liaison Officer is required.Ability to travel domestically is required as well as internationally as neededUS citizen /Ability to work on U.S. government programs and obtain a security clearance if needed.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
