Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Program Manager I for our West Plains, MO facility. Thisposition will be responsible for supporting the management of Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Technical contractual requirements for the Patriot portfolio. They will also provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing contracts. Responsibilities are conducted under the guidance of senior level management (Director of Programs, or Line of Business (LOB) Lead).Job Responsibilities
Manages and ensures the timely completion of contract requirements for production programs from start to completion to ensure that costs, schedule, lead times, capacity and goals are met, and works closely with Operations and Supply ChainEngage in production engineering decisions during new product integrationLead and or support bid and proposal activitiesManage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are metPrepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiationsDevelop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts. Regularly report program status to senior managementFormally identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle. Obtains management approval prior to making decisions that will cause deterioration of established program, cost and schedule objectivesMay be required to ensure the overall execution of material on schedule and on budget for a business areaMay be required to collaborate on various tasks with various project teamsMay be required to various tasks/team/project/Engineering changesNotify and seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they arise. Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evidentPerform variance analysis of schedule and cost on a formal and informal basis and present them to senior management (i.e. earned value management system)Job Responsibilities Part II
May serve as the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. Coordinate with other departments on resolution of contractual problems with the customerCoordinate with Contracts Administration on issues pertaining to contract requirements, changes, and interpretationsAssure the contract requirements are executed in accordance with appropriate regulations and Company policies and procedures (i.e. federal acquisition regulations)May provide leadership to program or project team. Assures communication and cooperation among team members and resolves areas of conflictEnsure a timely closeout of completed programs to ensure that all obligations are satisfied and program documentation is properly recordedUnderstand and develop leading verses lagging indicatorsDevelop and execute program corrective action strategiesMay partner with various stakeholders on planning process and system improvementsUnderstand principles of program planningUnderstand cash flow management principlesUnderstand principles of process improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma)Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationMay require knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understanding ofbills of material, demand material planning, and the supply chain purchasing processQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Business or related technical fieldor equivalent combination of education and experience3+ years of relevant experienceKnowledge of program management tools and proceduresSolid leadership and management skillsScheduling tool experience such asPrimavera, Oracle, Open Plan Professional, MS ProjectExposure to the program lifecycle or components of development through sustainment to include: proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation cost reduction and performance improvement effortsExposure to the earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysisExposure to finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain managementStrong customer interface skillsSolid problem solving skillsStrong presentation skillsExposure to project reviews, scheduling and budget controlStrong oral and written communication skillsProgram Management certification preferred (i.e. PMP or DAU)Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
