In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining UNIX server-based operating systems with a particular focus on supporting on-premises Kubernetes clusters. This role involves making strategic design decisions, developing team standards, and documenting processes to align with project goals and business requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in AIX and Linux systems administration and have the ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance in UNIX environments. Perform daily administration tasks for AIX and Linux servers, including SAN-based storage management, configuration, and maintenance.VMware ESX Support:

Manage VCenter tasks, including deployments, cloning, migrations, and API calls.Server Scripting:

Provide scripting support using Perl, Python, and shell scripting to streamline operations and increase automation.IBM Power Server Administration:

Support and maintain IBM Power 8 and Power 9 Series servers, including virtualized environments with HMCs and Power Frame deployments.Performance & Capacity Planning:

Conduct performance analysis, resolve issues, and perform capacity planning to ensure optimal system performance for AIX and Linux environments.Kubernetes Administration:

Manage and support on-premises Kubernetes clusters, ensuring effective container management and orchestration.Automation:

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using Ansible to enhance operational efficiency.Incident & Request Resolution:

Resolve incidents, requests, and tasks through ServiceNow, supporting system deployments and daily operational needs.Continuous Improvement:

Enhance server performance, reliability, and security in compliance with organizational standards and policies.Technical Research:

Stay updated on emerging UNIX technologies, protocols, and standards to improve systems engineering capabilities.Required Skills:Experience:

5+ years of UNIX platform experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Linux server support.UNIX Expertise:

Strong background in UNIX, specifically AIX and Linux, with experience in SAN/NAS technology.Kubernetes Requirement:

Proven experience managing and maintaining on-premises Kubernetes clusters, a key requirement for this role.VMware Skills:

Proficiency in VMware ESX VCenter for deployments, migrations, and API integrations.Agile Experience:

Experience with Agile methodologies to drive iterative and collaborative product delivery.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with Ansible for automating infrastructure and configuration tasks.Experience with high availability and load-balancing technologies.Familiarity with IBM Virtualization, HMCs, and Power Series Frame deployments.Scripting capabilities with Perl, Python, and shell scripting.Interpersonal & Professional Skills:Problem Solving:
