Responsibilities:Operational Management:Manage the clinical and environmental operations of the unit or service lineExecute action items in the strategic and operational departmental plans in collaboration with the Service Line AdministratorDevelop, implement, and evaluate systems to support quality and safe patient careDevelop master scheduling patterns, while managing requests for time off based on guidelines and unit needsMake staffing decisions and facilitate the delivery of care in the event of staff absenceReview patient surveys and feedback and creates action plans to address patient satisfaction issuesManage charges related to outpatient services, including charge discrepancies, CCI edits, and charge reviewServe as a clinical resource for appeals and denialsReview/update of Charge MasterMonitor and reports required volume dataManagement, Leadership, and Development of Staff:Demonstrate principles of evidence-based leadershipManage all aspects of the staff to include hiring, supervising, counseling, professional development, discipline, and competency/performance evaluation, including clinical evaluations of nursing staff with matrix relationshipsCoordinate the orientation process of new staff in collaboration with the educator/CNSDevelop staff and facilitates learning opportunities that meet staff and unit/service line needs in collaboration with the Service Line AdministratorServe as a clinical resource and acts as a role model and mentorDevelop the agenda and conduct monthly staff meetingsProvide clinical oversight for all unit/service line nursing staffOther Management Responsibilities:Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the annual budgetDevelop and implement action plans in response to variancesResponsible for the coordination of performance improvement initiatives for the unit/service line, in conjunction with the unit/service line strategic plan, to meet operational goalsInitiate investigations/reviews, and create action plans in response to incidents as well as patient and customer concernsCommunicate significant information to Key stake holders and Staff in a timely and appropriate mannerActively participate in Cancer Committee and serve as a nursing representativeAssist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of programsDevelop, implement, monitor and evaluate policies, procedures, protocols, standards of care, practice, and performanceContribute to the efficiency and professional environment of the unit/service line through support of objectives and strategic initiatives, participation in unit/Nursing Services activities, meetings, continued education programs and quality improvements initiativesProvide clinical expertise and leadership in the development, implementation, and advancement of an integrated medical record throughout the unit/service lineMaintain clinical expertise by active networking, or with membership with professional and/or specialty organizations, and continuing educationRepresent the unit/service line and Glens Falls Hospital through active participation in professional and specialty nursing organizations specific to the unit/service line.QualificationsQualifications/Experience

Education/Accredited ProgramsGraduation from a Registered Professional Nursing program requiredBachelor's degree in nursing or related field requiredMaster's degree in nursing or related field preferredExperience/Skills/Abilities3 years relevant clinical experience required (5 Years preferred)Previous nursing management experience preferredHigh emotional intelligence requiredBasic understanding of principles of performance improvement and use of data to improve outcomesWorking knowledge of regulatory and DNV requirementsAbility to provide feedback and have crucial conversationsAbility to organize work, delegate effectively, and to assign, direct and evaluate the work of other employeesProficient clinician in ICUAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary teamEffective communication and conflict resolution skillsComputer Skills (Microsoft Office, E-mail, unit/service line/department specific applicationsLicenses/Certificates/Registrations:Current Registered Nursing license in the state of New York requiredCertification in nursing leadership preferred; required within 2 years of eligibilityCurrent BLS certificationCurrent ACLS certifications if required for serviceCommunities We ServeLocated in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George.
