What you'll do Under supervision of the Manager, the Business Office Assistant - Pharmacy, is responsible for timely and accurate processing of all payment, transfer and adjustment transactions relating to patient accounts on the Outpatient Pharmacy System, MIB and Foxcare. This position will also have supervision provided by the Director, Outpatient Pharmacy. Operational/Procedural: Responsible for day to day operations of outpatient pharmacy system to ensure quality and productivity standards are met for timely accurate billing and payment postings to third party and personal accounts. Responsible for accurate payment posting of third party and all internal accounts with any BHN affiliation within 48 hours of receipt as monitored by management. Reconcile cashier daily report and drawer balancing report; address any inaccuracies for correction, as requested by management. Monitor system of controls for the payroll deduction system such that it is balanced each day. Transmit verified data in acceptable electronic and hard copy format to appropriate department. Success will be monitored by management. Follow up on accounts to ensure timely and appropriate reimbursement is received. Aged A/R greater than 90 days should be 8% or lower of total A/R as produced in month-end reports, success will be monitored by management. Responsible to verify private pay billing statements and internal accounts and process for mailing within 48 hours of monthly close. Supply supporting documentation to justify billing. Monitor accounts for payment posting. Monitored by management observation. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings as noted by Management. Responsibilities for Relationships: Maintains a strong working relationship with all Bassett staff and customers. Always Treat Customers (other employees, quests, patients and physicians) with courtesy and respect as observed by Management and feedback from other staff members or patients. Presents a positive image of Bassett Healthcare 100% of the time through professional appearance and behavior as observed by Management. Responds appropriately to Customer Service requests within 48 hours of receipt as monitored by feedback from our Customer Service unit. Works cooperatively within our own unit/department and with other units/departments as observed by Management and feedback from staff. Financial Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining optimum cash flow. Identify payer and system problems, recommend solution and advise management, success will be monitored by management. Reviews payment vouchers to ensure proper reimbursement is being received in accordance with our contracts as observed by Management. Use supplies and equipment sensibly, remaining cost conscience as monitored by Hospital Billing Managers observation and responsibility reports. Responsibilities for Information: Maintains a thorough understanding of the importance of sharing information accurately and timely remaining conscientious about confidentiality. Consistently ensures information known about the Customer is kept private and confidential as observed by Management and feedback from other staff and/or patients. Complies with all privacy (HIPAA) regulations and adheres to Basset’s confidentiality policies. Management monitors success through feedback from co-workers and/or patients. Identifies the need for information or services from the Unit in order to accomplish organizational objectives or standards, and to evaluate whether appropriate systems are in place to meet those needs. Success is monitored by Management through A/R review and employee feedback. Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager. Monitor the A/R EFT deposit sheets for accuracy of assigned GL. What we need from you Education: 2 year / Associate Degree, required 4 year / Bachelor's Degree, preferred Experience may be considered in lieu of education Experience: Minimum 3 years pharmacy billing or retail experience, required Skills: Accountability Accuracy Communication Computer Skills Customer Service Maintain Confidentiality Maintain Files Reading/Writing/Comprehension Reliability Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $17.32/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $25.98/Hr.
