NYC Care will provide a Primary Care doctor and access to specialty care, prescription drugs, mental health services, hospitalization and more.Responsibilities
We are seeking a specialized candidate for the role of Hematologist/Oncologist. This is a NYC Care position. Duties include:Consult with patients with hematological disorders
Prescribe medicationsCreate a robust sickle cell programTeach medical students and residents as well as providing consultation to other specialtiesAdditionally, the Hematologist/Oncologist must be a good listener, who is attentive to the concerns of patients, an excellent communicator and proficient in hematological procedures.The Hematologist/Oncologist will serve several purposes, including:Diagnose and treat blood disorders involving anomalies of the blood cells, bone marrow, and other organs that are engaged in the synthesis of bloodConduct wide-ranging research toward the prevention and the treatment of blood disorders like, anemia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia, and hemophiliaEducate and impart their expertise to medical residents, students, other physicians, and various medical professionalsProvide consultation in both the inpatient and outpatient settingsWill help develop a robust sickle cell program and to assist in the transition of sickle cell patients from pediatrics to adult medicineWill have excellent communication skills and educated in cultural sensitivity and implicit biasWill be involved in scholarly activity as related to hematological conditions with special emphasis on sickle cell diseaseQualifications
Medical Degree with specialization in Hematology/OncologyCompletion of all three parts of the US Medical Licensing examCompletion of Fellowship training in Hematology/OncologyCompetency in Hematology/Oncology proceduresActive medical license in the state of New YorkVery good teaching skillsWages and Benefits include:Annual Base Salary: $300,000 based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $425,520 , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
