Caring. Connecting. Growing together.The zSeries Mainframe Storage Team is an Enterprise Technology Infrastructure Platform Services team member within Optum Technology. This team innovates mainframe storage technology, both tape and disk, to align with UnitedHealth Group's (UHG) vision, mission, and strategy. The zSeries Storage team brings industry-leading technology to the storage infrastructure to support all aspects of data storage, including Disaster Recovery and Ransomware protection. Reporting to the Director of Mainframe Storage, you'll partner closely with other infrastructure and Application teams.

Primary Responsibilities:Provide day to day zSeries Storage Technical support and direction within a Team environmentProvide 7x24 rotating on-call support for Optum's zSeries Storage environment. Resolve all production issues either reported or identified by automated monitoring systemsPerform zSeries Storage capacity planning to monitor space and take proactive steps to prevent issuesWork with zSeries applications and other zSeries Platform teams to troubleshoot complex problems that impact our customer's ability to perform required business functionsUtilize industry standard technologies to ensure the integrity and recoverability of zSeries provisioned storage such as backups, performance monitoring, etc.Plan, coordinate and implement changes to the mainframe storage environment as needed, based on business requirementsCoordination with vendors for zSeries hardware and software support as needed
You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in applicable area of expertise or 4+ years of equivalent experience10+ years of experience working with IBM DASD and IBM VTS technology10+ years of experience working with IBM DFSMS, DFHSM and DFDSS10+ years of experience managing and troubleshooting storage systems and all dataset types (VSAM, sequential, PDS, PDS/e, etc.)10+ years of experience with coding SMS ACS Routines5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM GDPS/MGM environments
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with an x37 abend recovery tool i.e. IBM Tivoli Advanced Allocation ManagerExperience with IDCAMS and other IBM UtilitiesExperience with mainframe JCLExperience with REXX and/or SAS codingExperience with IBM RMM and CA1 tape management softwareHands-on experience with hardware encryption softwareWorking knowledge of IBM solutions related to Transparent Cloud Tiering, SafeGuarded Copy and MGM 4 Site solutions

The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
