Maintenance Planner / Parts Coordinator

Job Purpose
Manage maintenance purchasing, inventory control, and planning/scheduling proactive maintenance work. Minimize total maintenance cost by optimizing inventory control and purchasing, and maximize productivity by planning and scheduling work orders, preventive maintenance (PM), and predictive maintenance (PdM). Support kitting function of Maintenance department for optimal completion of work plans.
Essential Functions
Schedule and manage PM, PdM, and work orders including ensuring parts are available when assigning the work via staging the parts with the work order
Source and coordinate vendor/contractor activities for planned work execution
Review, process, and prioritize purchase/material inventory requests and purchase orders; examine and determine best approach for inventory control/management including establishing stock/non-stock, min/max, critical spares, and inventory controls
Purchase and stock all parts required for the repair and maintenance of production equipment and buildings/facilities
Ensure parts are in the correct quantities and kept on hand to support both planned and reactive maintenance activities
Fully document and leverage Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); maintain all aspects of the CMMS inventory, work order, and planning modules; accurately track all inventory in the CMMS database
Ensure receipt of items in CMMS and obtain pack slips for processing with AP for SOX compliance
Coordinate and execute periodic stores audits for valuation and accuracy
Conduct data gathering activities and create report formats; determine reporting and analysis needs, and set up and prepare special and periodic reports
Develop necessary workflows and supporting documentation; train personnel to utilize
Provide strong leadership in LEAN manufacturing principles; play an active role in the company’s Lean initiatives and implementation
Support internal/external audits and regulatory compliance
Participate in safety-related meetings and training
Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
2+ years of purchasing and inventory management experience
CMMS experience • Experience in TPM and/or WCM principles
3+ years of maintenance planning experience preferred
Understanding of PM, PdM, and work order management; experience using, developing, and scheduling PM, PdM, and follow-up work preferred
Experience with vendor management preferred
Maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to control budget spending to business expectations
Ability to use a computer to enter, manipulate, analyze, and extract data; design and prepare reports; and make mathematic calculations related to work
Self-starter with performance driven mindset
Demonstrated strong two-way verbal and written communication skills including the ability to listen, explain, and facilitate; ability to ask for input, accept suggestions, and work with others to solve problems
Ability to maintain attention to detail, demonstrate flexibility, create structure, and provide follow-through amid interruptions and changing priorities
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to set priorities, work independently, and coordinate multiple projects utilizing available resources
Willing to assist with cultural change to ensure a stable maintenance environment
