Essential Job DutiesThe person hired in this position will receive samples of vegetable crops and other plants submitted to the NC State Plant Disease and Insect Clinic in order to diagnose potential diseases. The diagnostician will use various analytical tools (morphological observations, biochemical reactions, and molecular techniques, among others) to identify disease-causing pathogens and will communicate findings to clients. The diagnostician will also perform other duties related to laboratory maintenance and functions, as part of the lab's team.
