Job Summary
Under general supervision the Organization Development Learning and Design Specialist is primarily responsible for the creation, delivery and evaluation of Denver Health's leadership development and learning solutions. This role works in collaboration with the OD and HR teams and supports internal customers by providing strategic development opportunities that build leader competencies to enable individual, department and organizational effectiveness.
Essential Functions: Develops curriculum and courses based on needs of the business. Works with HR Business Partners, management, and SME's to assess learning needs and deliver appropriate solutions. (5%) Takes big and complex ideas and turns them into innovative and culturally relevant learning solutions leveraging modern learning and instructional design methodologies and technologies (blended learning, WebEx, webinar, eLearning, micro- learnings, podcasts, etc.). (5%) Partners cross-departmentally with subject matter experts and key stakeholders by listening and consulting to develop effective learning solutions targeted at the organization's greatest needs. (5%) Aligns course needs with system leadership competencies. Updates curricula with new content. (5%) Designs and delivers a variety of leadership, professional development, and compliance-related training programs in a rapidly growing and fast-paced environment. (5%) Analyzes governing body requirements, codes, and policies, and consults with subject matter experts to design and develop curriculum related to trainees' needs. (5%) Reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed learning and development programs. Recommends appropriate changes. (5%) Delivers targeted, audience-appropriate instructor-led training sessions both in a classroom setting and virtually. (5%) Gathers and utilizes information related to group dynamics, individual personalities and organizational culture to facilitate in both large and small group settings. (5%) Uses adult learning principles while teaching in the classroom and in virtual and distance education forums. (5%) Is comfortable with technology in the classroom and using technology to teach classes of varying sizes and audiences. (5%) On boards and coaches organizational leaders and business partners to teach courses, facilitate team building sessions, conduct learning sessions and coach to outcomes, while adhering to adult learning principles and coaching models. (5%) Coaches individual leaders and teams, using appropriate coaching models. Conducts team building exercises and measures progress. (5%) Researches and utilizes the most impactful learning technologies to deliver learning solutions. (5%) Works with Talent Partners, Business Leaders, Compliance, and Employees to understand the needs of and pinpoint root causes for performance gaps to determine learning solutions. (5%) Confers with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies. (5%) Works within a project management application to document course development process data including time tracking, project comments, and task completion. (5%) Communicates learning metrics to management teams in order to drive change and close organizational development gaps. (5%) Monitors and evaluates (across all evaluation levels) the effectiveness of learning solutions by creating and implementing measures to track outco es and ensure alignment with business objectives. (5%) Evaluates and enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of learning operations including instructional design methodologies,processes, and tools. (5%) Education: Bachelor's Degree Required Work Experience: Three years of experience in adult training, learning and development, Required or curriculum design and instruction Required and Experience designing learning solutions using instructional design methodologies Required and technologies (blended learning, WebEx, webinar, eLearning, micro-learnings, podcasts, etc.) preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic understanding of OD theories, philosophies, practices and methods. Understanding of organizational needs analysis. Knowledge of instructional design models such as ADDIE, SAM and ARCS and evaluation methodology such as the Kirkpatrick's evaluation model. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in adult learning practices and classroom management. Uses instructional design principles to develop content, including course objectives and activities to engage learners. Proven ability to deliver targeted, audience-appropriate instructor-led training sessions.
