Position Title: Purchasing Specialist

As we expand and evolve, we seek a detail-oriented and driven Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage procurement processes, inventory control, and supplier relationships, playing a crucial part in optimizing operations and contributing to our ongoing success.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Oversee and maintain all inventory across the facility, including floor stock and stockrooms.
Manage supplier-based inventory and ensure optimal stock levels.
Implement tools and processes to enhance monthly inventory reporting and streamline counts for operational efficiency.
Supplier Relations & Negotiation:
Negotiate pricing with suppliers, focusing on Non-Value-Added materials and shop supplies.
Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure on-time delivery to meet operational demands.
Collaborate with suppliers to secure high-quality materials at the best value.
Logistics & Shipping:
Manage relationships with shipping carriers, negotiate favorable rates, and select primary/secondary carriers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Approve and accurately assign billing from shipping accounts to appropriate programs.
Oversee the procurement of shipping vehicles and coordinate with freight services as necessary.
Financial Management:
Approve and code invoices for Accounts Payable (AP) processing.
Reconcile and manage company credit card purchases, ensuring proper allocation to general ledger (GL) codes.
Provide monthly inventory and financial reporting to the Accounting department.
Systems & Process Improvement:
Identify, purchase, and implement a cost-effective ERP/MRP system to improve inventory tracking, work order management, and documentation processes.
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance business practices and operational efficiency.
Cost Management:
Collaborate on healthcare cost management, including negotiating competitive rates for employee plans.
Support hiring initiatives to build a strong leadership team committed to ongoing business improvement.
Additional Duties:
Participate in strategic projects to drive business success.
Contribute to creating a positive and efficient work environment by upholding the company\'s core values.
Minimum Skills and Experience:
Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with ERP/MRP software. Ability to learn and implement new technologies to support operations.
Communication and Team Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal teams and external suppliers. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Organizational and Time Management Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with a focus on managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and ensuring accuracy in documentation.
