Job SummaryAssist with financial, human resources and clerical administration within the Department of Biological Sciences.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of timeAdditional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloadsAssistance with special projectsSeasonal workEmergenciesIf you are looking for an employment opportunity, TES is a great way to showcase your professional skills and assist Auburn University while gaining valuable work experience within higher education.
AU student employees are not eligible for TES.
Essential Functions
Assisting with purchasing card reconciliation (approximately 500 transactions totaling ~$100,000 per month)Preparing travel expense vouchers, e-vendor vouchers, and other financial transactions.Assisting in advising faculty and staff on standard practices and procedures regarding travel and purchasing cards.Organizing, processing, and coding documents for financial transactions.Review timecards for accuracy, missed punches and errors.Administrative and clerical tasks in the operations of finance, human resources and the graduate program
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in clerical and administrative support services.
Substitutions for experience:When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Desired QualificationsFour-year degree in accounting or business. Experience in financial reporting. Experience with Auburn University policies and procedures, Auburn systems (Banner, E-Travel, E-Vendor, Kronos).
