Essential Functions
Conducts raptor educational programs to include teaching, public speaking, and providing expertise and assistance in outreach efforts under the direction of Education Staff.
Provides and assists in the care and training of the Auburn Raptor Center's educational ambassadors under the direction of the education staff.
Assists volunteers with training, proper handling, restraining, and husbandry of educational ambassadors as directed.
Assists with facility, vehicle, equipment maintenance as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.
In-state and some out-of-state travel is also a requirement for this position (most travel is same day).
Some weekends and/or holidays will be required.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with wildlife.
Prior experience training raptors using positive reinforcement techniques and participating in public presentations.
Pay Rate$10.00/hour
Work HoursEstimated Hours Per Week: 20 during Spring and Fall Semester; 20-30 in Summer Semester
