Position Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant Terminal Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will lead maintenance activities to ensure maximum uptime and productivity. This is a hands-on position with direct reports including maintenance personnel who are members of the collective bargaining unit in Houston.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet internal customer requirements to ensure we maintain operational capabilities for 24/7 operations.
- Monitor, maintain and manage the preventative maintenance plan to improve operational capability of all equipment.
- Prepare daily/weekly maintenance schedules and allocate staff support to each task.
- Work with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping of repairs and maintenance, while maintaining inventory, equipment, and all related records and reports.
- Inspect facilities and determine potential issues and the maintenance required.
- Repair and/or replace broken or non-functioning equipment through analysis of problems and determining what materials/parts are needed.
- Facilitate effective communication between senior management and maintenance staff. Ensure the maintenance team is properly staffed, qualified and trained to meet production needs.
- Assist in preparing and adhering to the maintenance budget and capital projects.
- Available as needed 24/7 for emergency situations.
- Collaborate with the Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
- Promotes terminal cleanliness.
Skills and Qualifications Required for Success:
- Minimum 5-7 years management experience in industrial maintenance, refineries, terminal sites, or manufacturing.
- Technical School with focus in a related field preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
- Project management knowledge.
- Knowledge of and understanding of boiler systems, air compressor systems, pumps, PLCs, 4-20 mA systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Centrifugal and Positive Displacement pump knowledge preferred.
- Ability to use hand/power tools.
- Position requires strong observation, analytical and evaluating skills.
- Ability to operate forklift, carry deck crane, man lift and other light industrial equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents (regulations, policies, reports, bids, etc.), blueprints, P&IDs, PFDs, and other drawings.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations.
- Ability to work closely with a diverse group of individuals and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers.
