Position Summary
- This role involves reviewing and ensuring compliance of design/construction drawings with NEC and API RP500 requirements. You will evaluate high, medium, and low-voltage electrical systems, optimizing for efficiency and safety. Responsibilities include creating technical specifications, engineering standards, and equipment specifications (MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, etc.). You will review arc flash assessments, utilize power system modeling software (ETAP/EasyPower/SKM), and support troubleshooting and maintenance. The role requires coordination with other departments and external stakeholders such as utility companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review design documents (wiring diagrams, conduit schedules, P&IDs) for compliance.
- Ensure electrical systems meet NEC/NESC standards and optimize operations.
- Create and maintain technical standards and specifications.
- Provide root cause analysis for equipment failures and outages.
- Interface with utility companies for data and service needs.
- Support operations, commissioning, and project management of electrical systems.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Business Development, and Engineering teams to meet project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 7-10 years of electrical design experience in industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with medium and low-voltage equipment, arc flash assessments, and electrical modeling software.
- Knowledge of automation, instrumentation, and substation design.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Understanding of codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE).
- Valid driver’s license and TWIC card; travel 10-20% required.
Preferred
- Experience with natural gas compressor stations or similar facilities.
- Project management experience for industrial plant projects.
