Product Engineer

Summary:

The Product Engineer will support the engineering team in the design, development, and improvement of our products. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone early in their engineering career who is eager to apply their knowledge in a hands-on environment. The Product Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and sales, to ensure products meet technical specifications and customer expectations.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of new products and product modifications to meet customer and market demands.
  • Perform tests and analysis on product prototypes to evaluate performance, durability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and Sourcing teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and optimized for production.
  • Support product quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data and implementing corrective actions for product issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including cost reduction, process optimization, and quality enhancement projects.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to source materials and components that meet design requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including technical drawings, product specifications, and testing reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to sales, customer service, and production teams regarding product specifications and issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a proactive approach to learning and professional development..

  • Preferred Qualifications: Internship experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Exposure to quality standards, such as ISO or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of project management tools or software.

Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.

Physical Requirements: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
