Avid/IT Support Engineer

Buddha Jones is looking for an experienced Avid/IT Support Engineer to join our team. This role will work closely with the IT team and reports to the Manager of Service Desk. The candidate will ensure timely and effective solutions to calls for service related to the technologies utilized by the company across various creative and administrative departments. Please note this position is 100% on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized support for the various editorial teams throughout the company.
  • Provide technical assistance, provision, maintain, and upgrade end-user software and hardware.
  • Resolve issues for users via phone, in person, or remote assistance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and track customer issues and resolutions via IT ticketing system.
  • Work alongside Engineering and Vendors to upgrade and maintain editorial server environments.
  • Provide advice and best practices to users.
  • Onboard and offboard employees.
  • Institutionalize workflows and processes to internal knowledge base.
  • After hours and weekend support, both onsite and phone as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in an IT Support environment within the entertainment space (studio, post-production, entertainment marketing, etc.).
  • Avid Certified Support Representative (ACSR) or equivalent experience required.
  • Knowledge of AV hardware and related infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge troubleshooting editorial suites (Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere).
  • Ability to analyze issues as described by end users.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Level I,II, III MacOS/Windows proficiency.
  • Extensive knowledge of Apple and PC based hardware.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, and/or Microsoft O365 and Active Directory.
  • Basic knowledge of network topology (layer 1-3, DHCP, DNS), wireless networking, patching, etc.
  • Detail oriented, punctual, reliable, and a professional communicator.

Education:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • College Diploma in computer science, film, or related field (Preferred)
  • College courses in computer programming, film editing, or related field completed (Preferred)

Pluses:

  • Technical knowledge of creative suites (Adobe, Maxon, Autodesk, etc.)
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Google)
  • Familiarity with entertainment security organizations (MPAA, TPN) and technology best practices.
  • Passion for the entertainment industry.
