We are looking for a Systems Engineer II that will focus on cloud automation for our team. Our team is responsible for maintaining the current systems and network infrastructure supporting our existing multi-site topology, and is involved in our expansion to new locations and cloud providers. We deliver excellent customer service, outstanding employee experience and leading edge technology solutions for approximately 7,000 users across multiple office locations.
This position reports to the Systems & Infrastructure team which is responsible for a wide array of infrastructure platforms and services that support our employees across the globe. This includes the support of virtualization and cloud platforms (virtualization of servers, desktops and applications), management of services deployed across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and management of hyperconverged platforms in our primary and secondary data centers (infrastructure services, virtual desktops (VDI), and some application services)
The Impact You Will Make
- Design, recommend and implement automation systems both on-prem and in the cloud.
- Assist with day-to-day administrative activities to maintain infrastructure systems: cloud infrastructure, cloud applications, hyper-converged, server platforms and infrastructure security.
- Identify and improve processes via automation.
- Interact with employees to understand the way they perform work, and seek creative ways to improve our workflows with technology.
- Work with members in various offices to ensure that projects and priorities are aligned, coordinated, and prioritized.
- Contribute to improving internal tools and automation to make maintaining production services easier, safer and more robust.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve cloud and network issues while identifying areas of improvement to rectify any deficiencies or enhance performance.
- Work with the team to identify opportunities to improve processes and engineering models
- Capacity Planning: Analyze cloud systems requirements and system interdependencies.
- Disaster Recovery / Disaster Resiliency: Ensure planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met.
- Remain current on new technologies and evaluate for value and improvements.
- Manage and deploy monitoring to ensure availability of network and systems.
What You Bring to the Table
- 4+ years implementing and maintaining a cloud and hybrid virtual infrastructure.
- Experience with major cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, GCP
- Cloud technologies including Compute/Containers, Storage, etc.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2019-2022 (including core installations) in an Enterprise environment.
- Experience with various Linux distributions (CentOS and Ubuntu preferred).
- Experience with automation technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi
- Experience with security and authentication protocols (SAML, LDAP).
- Ability to create PowerShell or Python scripts to drive automation.
- Technical writing, documentation, clear communication skills
- Virtualization concepts, and storage technologies that often support it (VMware, AHV, vMotion, NetApp and Dell EMC).
- Knowledge of Network protocols and routing and troubleshooting utilizing various capture and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and theories.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies, spectrum analysis, encryption, and authentication.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec VPN tunnel configuration and troubleshooting (IKE1/IKE2), SNMP.
- Understanding of distributed systems.
- Track record of sound judgment, problem-solving, decision making, organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of the organization, from peers to management and executives.
- Experience working with virtual/remote staff members.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
