Front End Engineer (Vue, Kotlin)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading food & beverage retailer, is seeking a Front End Engineer to join their Search Team. This candidate will primarily work on the frontend in VueJS with minimal work on backend services in Kotlin. This is a long-term contract opportunity with potential to convert to a full time employee.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex enterprise applications
• Expert level frontend experience but not limited to: VueJS, Pinia/Vuex, TailWind CSS, Nuxt, Webpack, Yarn, ESLint & SonarLint, Jest, Vue Test Utils
• Backend experience including, but not limited to: Kotlin, Spring, SpringBoot, RESTful APIs, messaging frameworks, container-based development (Docker), Elastic Search, relational databases, NoSQL solutions, and event-driven architecture solutions like Kafka.
• Excellent Knowledge of Continuous Delivery process and tools, testing frameworks and practices
• Understand the testing pyramid and develop suite of unit tests, API tests and adopts "test-as-you-code" strategy

Responsibilities:

• Design front-end and server-side solutions using VueJS
• Write APIs for consumer-facing flows, including web and mobile
• Test software to ensure software responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Write technical documentation
• Work with implementation teams to automate and ensure standard methodologies on infrastructure deployments
• Deliver solutions and systems
