Sterling Search Partners is helping a MOBILE, AL client with its search for a SR Estimator. Candidates must be willing to relocated to Mobile and our client does offer a relocation package.

The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop comprehensive estimates, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
  • Project Analysis: Review project drawings and specifications to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop bid proposals in coordination with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to evaluate prices and availability of materials and subcontractor services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information for accurate estimates.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on estimating activities to senior management.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and train junior estimators and other team members as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, preferably in general contracting.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from a professional organization (e.g., ASPE, AACE).
  • Experience with a diverse range of construction projects.
