Job title: Mainframe Quality Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA (3 Days onsite Tuesday to Thursday)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for mainframe applications.

• Collaborate with development teams to understand application functionality and identify testing requirements.

• Perform manual and automated testing, including regression, performance, and integration testing.

• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.

• Implement best practices for quality assurance processes and methodologies.

• Mentor and guide junior quality engineers, sharing expertise in testing tools and strategies.

• Document test plans, test cases, and defect reports.

• Participate in project planning, providing estimates and insights on quality assurance timelines.

• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mainframe testing tools and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on mainframe applications.

• Proficiency in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.

• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., SilkTest, QTP, or similar).

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with performance testing and tuning of mainframe applications.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) is a plus.
