Structural Design Engineer - Salt Lake City

We are seeking talented structural engineers at all levels of work experience to join our new Salt Lake City office and take part in the structural design of exciting LERA intermountain and west coast projects. Additionally, our SLC-based engineers will work with our New York office on national and international projects of varying size and complexity. Current projects led by our SLC office are located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, New York, New Jersey, and South Korea.

Responsibilities:

• Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, mass timber, masonry and glass structures
• Analyze gravity and lateral load resisting systems
• Design and detail structural elements
• Create drawings and communicate with Drafting and BIM Department
• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines (Architects, MEP Engineers, etc.)
• Respond to RFI’s and review shop drawings
• Visit construction sites
• Forensic engineering
• Help ?build and grow the SLC office
• Work with the New York office on projects of varying size and complexity

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or 5-year equivalent degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering
• Good intuition about the behavior of structures
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team
• Strong organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
